All go

I have taken the first steps to bring my GCSE maths & English up to scratch today. A course being run by Learn Direct should help me.
I didn't manage to get into College as the assessment was a long one &amp and I had a long, fruitless seearch for all the materials I needed for work on my peacock chair as stalls that used to sell foam on local markets are no longer in business. I am going to try an interiors shop where they make upholstery on the premises, and hope they can sell me some if I explain my predicament.
I did however get the double sided tape, and a mini glue gun which was a steal at £5.
I'm just concerned how well it will work as things within my budget rarely last. Ideally, I would prefer to be able to use better quality equipment.
Budget actually plays a huge part in FMP & I don't think people realise it.
I am a thrifty girl, I have to be and there's a big difference between uhu glue costing £1 & uhu glue for £2.50, as that's the price of a lunch at College.

Pound shops are brilliant, The Works is also a great place to buy odds and sods & books, but Ryman's is awful: £1 for a pencil sharpener.
I miss my art shop. There was a shop called Portfolio in Blackburn which specialised in art materials & papercraft & they sadly closed in April.
It has made finishing the course that bit more difficult as as WH Smiths & Rymans don't stock A2 black paper or a range of acrylics.

This evening I plan to put my textile samples to good use.
